5th Grade Classroom Tour 2018

Hey everyone!!! We just finished up our first full week of school! #survivalofthefittest I have loved getting to know my new kiddos. My homeroom class this year is amazing! In the past, I’ve done some form of flexible-ish seating. During independent work, students knew that they may sit around the room and use pillows, clipboards, and lap desk. This year I added a lot more options. Almost all of my new furniture was given to me by a friend who left the classroom to become an administrator, so it was quite the blessing! Without further ado, classroom tour 2018!

This is what you see when you first walk into my room. Some seating options we have are beach chairs, floor table, wobble stools, a couch, and regular chairs. Some of my regular chairs have some awesome bouncy bands from http://www.fidgeteez.com/

My back wall is one of my favorite features. The quote at the top says “work hard, have fun, make mistakes, be kind, and laugh often.” I just made the giant letters on powerpoint, one per page, printed, and cut by hand! Nothing too fancy!

The “stop, collaborate, and listen” letters were made the same way! The big, black wall behind the couch is where our math word wall cards from http://krausmath.com will go! The decor at the top of the black wall is all from Target’s party section.

This little area is my teacher hub. The toolbox is from Lowe’s, but you can find them on Amazon as well! The toolbox labels are from Teach.Create.Motivate. The labels are the stackable drawers are a freebie in my store! The prints and mason jar holder are both from Jane.com.

This is the area that leads to my students’ cubbies. The cookie sheet is where they make their lunch choice for the day. Since our kids travel to several different teachers, they are not ever in my classroom when it is time to take attendance. This is my way of knowing who is here and who is not when I take attendance. The adorable prints are from From the Pond. The other wall decor is from Hobby Lobby.

And last, but certainly not least! This is our meeting area, featuring the stage my husband and I built this summer (blog post coming soon!!!). The beach chairs are from Big Lots and have lasted 3 years now! The rug is from Amazon and was a prime day deal! The math alphabet in the background is from Miss5th. It’s one of my absolute favorite things in my room!

If you have any questions about what you see that I left out, please let me know in the comments! Happy back to school season!
